Collection and recycling

Norlux follows the WEEE directive and ensures correct labeling of our products. We sort our own waste and accept WEEE waste. We are a member of RENAS.

Most countries have regulations for the proper collection and environmentally sound treatment of waste from electrical and electronic equipment, WEEE. The regulations provide obligations regarding collection, treatment and waste management as well as financing of the scheme. This applies to waste from household users (in some countries defined as consumer products) that may end up in municipal waste systems – and also from other types of users, such as. businesses.

In accordance with local legislation, Norlux ensures the collection of products that Norlux has placed on the market in Norway, these are identified by the appropriate waste bin logo placed on the equipment. Norlux fulfils all obligations under the WEEE Directive and equivalents for non-EU countries, as well as its implementation in accordance with the national legislation of the Member States. In Norway, this is defined in the Regulation on the Recovery and Treatment of Waste (Waste Regulations) 2004-06-01, No. 930 with subsequent amendments.

In accordance with national legislation, Norlux accepts products that the company has placed on the market after 13 August 2005 - these can be recognized by the waste bin logo placed on the equipment, as well as products that Norlux has placed on the market before 13 August 2005, when they are replaced by a similar product or a product with a similar function. Norlux offers customers a return scheme following RENAS's conditions for the collection of discarded equipment supplied by the company. More information can be found on the RENAS website.

Electrical and electronic products are marked with a crossed-out waste bin, which means that the product should not be disposed of in the general waste stream. WEEE waste should not be disposed of with other waste, but should either be returned to a retailer or a municipal collection point. Alternatively, the municipality's collection scheme can be used (for example, the "red box" if such exists). The scheme that Norlux is a part of through its membership in RENAS ensures that it is free for consumers to dispose of WEEE waste.
