Norlux Lighting Solutions
Vacancy
Sales Manager – Retail Norway
Do you want to put the future of retail experiences in the right light?
The best retail experiences begin long before the doors open. They are shaped in meeting rooms, concept sketches, and strategic decisions – often long before the first fixture is installed.
That's where we want to be.
Norlux is the Nordic region's leading retailer of retail lighting. We are now looking for a Sales Manager – Retail Norway which will strengthen our position, develop existing customers and open doors to new collaborations.
This is a role for those who like the long-term game. You know that the best deals often start with a good conversation long before there is a concrete request – and that trust, structure and perseverance are crucial when established solutions and suppliers are not changed overnight.
Light that builds concepts and creates results
For us, retail lighting is about much more than fixtures and technical specifications.
Lighting creates atmosphere, highlights products and influences how customers experience both the store and the brand. At the same time, the solutions must be energy-efficient, reliable and developed with quality, longevity and responsible use of resources in mind.
Therefore, we combine commercial understanding with high expertise in lighting design, products, project implementation and sustainability.
A central role with great scope for action
As Sales Manager, you will have overall responsibility for Norlux's retail efforts in Norway. The role combines business development, strategic sales, customer responsibility and personnel management.
You will create commercial direction, develop the team and prioritize the opportunities with the greatest potential. At the same time, this is an operational role, where you will be close to the market, customers and the most important sales processes.
Our customers are primarily retail chains with their own stores, franchises or a combination. But if we are to win the stores, we also have to be relevant to the environments that shape them.
You will therefore build relationships with:
- Retail chains and their central environments within concept, establishment, store and property development
- Concept developers, retail designers and interior architects
- Retail developers and store decorators
- Contractors, builders and general contractors
Your task will be to understand who influences the decisions, open the right doors and position Norlux before concepts, technical solutions and supplier choices are locked in.
The goal is clear: Norlux should be a relevant advisor when the store experience begins to take shape – not only when the lighting is to be ordered.
These will be your main tasks:
- Lead and further develop Norlux's focus on retail in Norway
- Have personnel responsibility and create direction, commitment and good performance in the team
- Further develop existing customers and strategic partnerships
- Identify new customers, decision makers and business opportunities
- Building relationships with retail chains and the communities that develop and build the stores
- Position Norlux early in the concept and establishment processes
- Drive complex sales processes from first contact to agreement and rollout
- Take responsibility for the market area's budget, profitability and growth goals
- Represent Norlux as a visible and credible player in the market
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is energized by people, business, and the opportunity to build something over time.
You are persistent without being pushy, and structured enough to drive progress through long decision-making processes. When the customer is not ready to switch today, you ensure that Norlux is the natural choice the day the opportunity arises.
You are curious about the customer's business and good at uncovering what creates value. You navigate confidently between creative professional environments, commercial decision-makers and technical resources - and communicate well with everyone.
As a leader, you are clear, inclusive and committed to making others better. You set direction and follow up, while giving competent people trust and room for action.
We believe that you:
- Have experience in strategic sales, business development or customer development
- Have led people, or are ready to take on clear leadership responsibility
- Can demonstrate results from complex sales processes with multiple decision makers
- Has commercial flair and the ability to turn needs and ideas into profitable businesses
- Thrives in being visible, outreaching and active in the market
- Are curious about how technology, energy and sustainability influence customers' choices
Your background may be from retail or chain development, store concepts, store interior design, retail design, visual merchandising, interior architecture, project development or solution sales.
Experience in the lighting industry is an advantage, but not a requirement. You can learn retail lighting from our experts. You will bring leadership, business understanding and relationship building with you.
You will have a whole professional environment behind you.
At Norlux, you will be supported by experienced lighting designers, project resources, product specialists and a skilled sustainability department. Together, we develop solutions that combine great store experiences with energy efficiency, quality and long-term investments.
You will have a competent team to lead, an established customer portfolio and significant potential for further growth. At the same time, you will have great influence and freedom to shape how we work towards the retail market.
It gives you room to concentrate on what you should be best at: building trust, developing people and customers – and creating new business opportunities.
Ready to put Norlux on the drawing board?
You don't need to know everything about lighting from day one. We can teach you that.
But you must understand people and business, have the patience to build the right relationships and the drive to turn opportunities into results.
Would you like to join us in making the Nordic region's leading retail lighting environment even stronger?
Then we would like to hear from you.
