Our history

Norlux was founded in 1997. Our vision is that Norlux should have solutions for everyone and a solution for everything. We are currently the market leader in the Retail segment and have grown significantly in the project and tender market. Experience and expertise from various areas within lighting form a solid foundation that we constantly build on, and we benefit from knowledge across departments and industries.

At Norlux, we have 95 employees who work purposefully to solve our customers' needs. We are experiencing solid growth and have doubled our turnover in recent years. In 2024, we ended up with 386 million NOK.

Our head office is located in Stokke, and we have a branch office with showroom in Oslo. In addition, we have sales representatives around the country. Norlux is also present in Sweden, Denmark and England with its own subsidiaries. In Finland we have a close partner.

We are continuously working on plans for improvements regarding environmental impact and the environmental impacts associated with our own operations. Norlux is an Environmental Lighthouse and a member of Ethical Trading Norway .

Concept development

With extensive experience from many different industries, we are a good sparring partner in concept development. Our employees have versatile expertise in both technology and design.

We combine our expertise in consumer behavior and knowledge of how light affects human decision-making processes with our customers' thoughts on how they want to be perceived in the market. Our knowledge helps our customers achieve what they want in the best possible way – a selling and economically efficient concept.

Project planning

Our project department designs both lighting plans and electrical plans. We have solid and diverse experience from most types of projects. This enables us to integrate lighting in the best possible way both in the room as a whole and in the interior design.

Thanks to solid insight into the installer's everyday life, we are able to produce lighting plans that make installation work significantly more efficient. This ensures a cost-effective installation, and the concept's idea becomes reality, every time.

Lighting calculation

Increased focus on energy efficiency makes lighting calculation increasingly important. All our luminaires are supplied with Relux-compatible lighting data. This makes it possible to calculate the number of luminaires and their placement to achieve the desired amount of light and impression.

Reports from Relux show everything from total light to light per individual point in the premises. The reports can also include power consumption both total and per square meter in the premises.

Product development

Lighting products are constantly evolving. There are increasingly higher demands placed on energy efficiency, design, ease of installation, material selection and sustainability. We closely monitor trends and technical requirements to ensure that our products maintain a high standard.

Our product department works closely with the production units and ensures that we can deliver products to the right specifications. For larger projects, we also carry out special customization of products to meet the customer's requirements and profile.

Lighting control

Lighting control is a natural part of a modern lighting solution. The time when you had to remember to turn off the switch in every room is definitely over. Today we want systems with zones, different scenes, sensor control, sun protection and lights that adjust to the daylight outside. With good lighting control, energy consumption can be further reduced.

Norlux delivers lighting control and performs programming for both large and small projects. We are a certified implementation partner of Lutron Electronics, one of the world's leading players in lighting control. In addition, we use Casambi and Aimotion in our solutions. All projects are unique. Norlux are advisors, and together we map needs and find lighting control solutions that are right for you. We can also implement solutions for audio .

Upgrading to LED

Do you have older light fixtures? Talk to us about upgrading your lighting. With our energy-efficient fixtures and the right light in the right place, we can reduce your lighting energy costs by at least 50%. High electricity prices mean an investment with a short payback period, and you get lighting that is sustainable. Win-win, in other words.

Halogen and mercury-containing light sources are being banned from production and are being phased out. You may have heard about the ban on T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes, which are widely used in public buildings, among other things? We have the replacement products ready, and we can contribute with new solutions or upgrades to existing installations.

Leasing

Do you need lighting for new premises, or are you replacing old lighting? Norlux offers a leasing program for financing LED lighting for stores and projects. With our model, you don't have to borrow money or use your saved equity.

The energy savings from converting to LED will often be so high that the money you save covers the monthly leasing costs. Norlux has dedicated staff to help you with this. We offer implementation of your new lighting, and you can enjoy all the benefits of LED lighting right away.

Fast delivery

Norlux has a large, modern logistics center of approximately 3,500 square meters where we have the largest warehouse of light sources, luminaires and track systems in the Nordic region. We "turn around" very quickly to satisfy our customers' expectations for fast and precise deliveries.

Our logistics center handles over 18,000 orders per year, and we maintain a standby stock of all lighting equipment for our chain customers. Our logistics team is on hand to support the customer and adapt to most unforeseen changes that may occur in project deliveries. Light source orders are mostly shipped the same day, and at very favorable prices.
