Time to switch to LED fixtures
Phasing out fluorescent lamps
Time to upgrade the lighting system
In August 2023, a ban came into force that means that T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes will be phased out from the European market. The ban on mercury has until now had an exemption for light sources. This exemption no longer applies. The EU directive means that it is no longer permitted to manufacture T5 and T8 fluorescent tubes. In addition, the phasing out of compact fluorescent tubes (CFLs) started already in February 2023.
