Norlux Commercial Project

Lower Langgate 19

Nedre Langgate 19 is a newly constructed office building with a central location a stone's throw from Tønsberg wharf. In competition with other lighting players, Norlux won with its proposal. We have had great pleasure in taking part in the project, and we are proud of our contribution. The lighting in the building shows that aesthetics and functionality can work together in solutions that are also energy efficient.

In the work of preparing plans for the lighting, we have collaborated closely with the architect and interior designer. We have found solutions that are in line with their visions and wishes, while also meeting BREEAM requirements.

From the ceiling on the fifth floor hangs the Puppet pendant lamp from the Italian company Vistosi. The lamp consists of 30 handmade glass balls, the longest of which hangs 12 meters from the ceiling. It is a decorative eye-catcher both from the outside of the building and in the common areas in the floor divisions. The Puppet balls are also used as individual pendants in the coffee bars on each floor. Several lamps from Vistosi are also used in offices and meeting rooms around the building.

The circular pendant Halo is used in several meeting rooms and offices. Halo is a decorative element that softens the space and makes the expression more organic. In the offices on the top floor, we have collaborated with the interior architects and combined Halo with plant installations. This was done to build on the environmental profile of Scanship, which, together with Eie Eiendomsmegling, is located in the building.

The Tania Mini spotlight in DALI version is used both in common areas and in corridors. A spotlight gives a different visual expression than recessed lighting, and the ability to illuminate both vertically and horizontally gives more room for the play of light and shadow and to direct the light towards focal points such as slatted walls.

In corridors, Tania Mini is combined with the Force Plus linear luminaire. The track solution provides flexibility, and we get a contrast between leading lines from the linear luminaire and spotlights that illuminate walls and focal points.

Benu Office DALI with microprismatic diffuser is used above workplaces in offices. 30/70 up/down light means that Benu, in addition to shining downwards, also provides a soft light from the light reflected from the ceiling. In some offices we also find Galactic C , which in pendant pole version gives an exclusive expression. This is also supplied with a microprismatic diffuser.

In recessed ceiling rafts in open office landscapes and meeting rooms, we have used our recessed series Cold 5 and Cold 10 as part of the basic lighting. These take up little space, provide discreet light with their "dark light optic" and at the same time provide good light with very little glare.

LED strips have been used in the entrance area on each side along the balustrade walls and in each step of the spiral staircase. The outside of the staircase is illuminated with Zoom Mini spotlights to make it visible from the outside.
