Olympia Sport

Congratulations to Olympia Sport on the relocation of their new inspiring premises. Norlux had the pleasure of supplying the lighting solution and products to one of Norway’s largest independent sports stores. Take a tour of the project by browsing through the images.

Olympia Sport is an independent sports store that specializes in skiing, cycling, running, and paddling equipment. Since 2005, the store located on the outskirts of Tønsberg, has been a popular focal point both in the local community and for outdoor enthusiasts and professional sports men and women. However, due to the brands online success, the store had needs to upgrade its storage capacity, hence the relocation. Norlux is proud to have supported Olympia Sport by providing comprehensive lighting solutions to their new premises.

The outdoor area is highlighted by the bollard, Arke Bollard, which helps navigate the visitor to the store. The discreet lighting to the façade is provided by Tube Wall, whilst the entrance area is illuminated by Auriga Downlight. Entering the building, we are met by an impressive open retail landscape dispersed on three floor levels. The lavish influx of daylight from the large window surfaces merged with the light provided by the Ray Maxi Spotlights, is perfect for high retail spaces. The lower floor is designated for service maintenance of bicycles and skis.

The outdoor clothes brand, Amundsen, is located on the 2nd floor, with the décor inspired by the polar explorer, Roald Amundsen. The artworks by the fireplace are highlighted by Zoom Spotlight. The spotlight features again illuminating Knut Holmann’s famous wooden kayak and a selection of gold medals from previous Olympics.

Olympia Sport has close ties with local athletes and sport associations, including the former champion cross-country skier, Therese Johaug. Her World Cup trophy and medals are on display, which are highlighted by Lobus Spotlight. Furthermore, in the cross-country department, the light designers at Norlux combined the linear luminaire, T-Line with the Lobus Spotlight, providing high quality general lighting and merchandize exposure.

Olympia Sport is one of the leading individual dealers of the high-performance footwear brand, HOKA. On the 3rd floor, a wide selection of HOKA’s footwear can be found along with a treadmill for running analysis. Again, this area, including the fitting rooms, are illuminated with T-Line and Lobus Spotlight, chosen for their high-quality color reproduction.

T-Line is further implemented in the bicycle workshop providing excellent working light for Olympia Sport’s Shimano certified mechanics. In the ski workshop, the luminaire noted for its protection against dust and moisture, Stream was utilized. With a classification of IP65, Stream was the natural choice for the demands of the ski workshop.

For the administrative office space, the popular recessed LED Panels were applied.
